About Me

  My name is Gene and I am a lifelong Merritt Island resident. I’ve spent about 30 years gathering knowledge about maintaining homes, equipment, automobiles and even Space Shuttles. I started my career owning a small auto body shop. It was nice being my own boss. While doing that I also did side jobs performing home repairs mostly for fun. 

 In 2001, I was offered a job working on the Space Shuttle. Being a lifelong dream to work on the space program, I accepted the job, and I closed my auto body shop. As a Space Shuttle Technician, I learned how important preventative maintenance and attention to detail is. During that time, I continued my side work doing home remodeling and repairs. All good things must come to an end, as did the Shuttle program. I was laid off when the program ended.

  I’ve spent the last several years working as an electrician for a small electrical contractor. I went to thousands of homes across the county and discovered that most people don’t have the time or capability to properly maintain the basic parts of their homes. From doors and windows that won’t open or close properly to ceiling fans ready to fall down. I’ve seen it all and most of it was due to the lack of general maintenance.

 Missing being my own boss, I recently decided to open my own business again. Drawing on all my past experiences, I really wanted to address the need to help people with their home maintenance and repairs. There are plenty of contractors out there who specialize in one thing, but a person who can do it all at a fraction of the price of a contractor is hard to find. Most repairs don’t require a specialized contractor. A good handyman is all you need in most cases and that's why I’m here to help.
